Happy Day!

Today was a great day! Even though Mom still woke me up too early, I had a lot of fun today. It must have been because I wore my new purple outfit that Grandma Zsa Zsa made me. Daddy even let me choose the shoes to wear with the outfit. Finally, my parents are starting to understand I have my own fashion sense!

I had some anti-oxidant fruit mix for breakfast. Yummy! I sure love that stuff. I had cereal for breakfast when I got to school. I didn't want Mommy to leave, but then I realized how hungry I was and I didn't even realize she left. Daycare Grandma and Ms. Brenda always makes the morning great even though Mommy and Daddy aren't there.

We were having a reading circle when Mommy picked me up. I was so excited when she showed up, and all of the other kids were jealous that I got to leave. We went over to the pool and I got dressed and had some cheddar whales for a snack.

I got in the pool by myself today. I had to sit on the wall and then turn on my tummy and slide in. I did such a good job! I did it a few times before Mommy made me start swimming. I still wanted to be on the side, and I wasn't afraid to let everyone know. We did get to go back to the side and jump in. I even put my head all the way under the water.

On the way home, I told Mommy I wanted to listen to my CD, and we sang the whole way home about a hole in the ground that had a root that had a tree that had a branch that had a twig that had a nest that had an egg that had a bird that had a wing that had a feather, and the green grass grew all around! Then I took a shower and ate pizza for dinner. I liked the breadstick better, and even better than that was my water with ice in it! That's my favorite. One day maybe I can have a bowl of ice for dinner. That sounds really good!


A note from Mommy:
Finally, a drive home from the pool that did not involve crying or yelling. And all it took was for me to play one song on repeat and sing it really loud. The side effect of that is me still singing it in my head...and the green grass grows all around, all around and the green grass grow all around!

Wiped Out Wednesday

I don't know what the deal is, but I just can't seem to get enough sleep. Mom keeps waking me up too early, and I keep going to bed too late. Maybe I am growing! One of these days I will get caught up on my beauty sleep, but probably not this week. I have swim lessons until the end of the week, so I get to stay up late!

I had a good day at school. It rained during the afternoon, but we were still able to go play outside at the end of the day. I was excited when Mommy came to pick me up since we were going to the pool. I was so happy that we got to go swimming today since it wasn't raining. Daddy even met us at the pool today and he shared his granola bar with me for a snack.

I didn't feel like swimming like our teacher told us. I just wanted to float around, but Mommy made me float on my back and try to blow bubbles and kick my feet. When we went to the shallow end, I played with all of the toys left in the box. Mommy kept telling me I could have one toy, but I snuck a couple extra. Every time she caught me, I just traded the toys in for another one.

I wanted to stay at the pool longer, but we had to go home. I yelled at Mom the whole way home because... well I guess because I wanted to. She turned up the music and rolled down the windows which made me fall asleep. She was going to try to sneak me in the shower and then to bed, but I woke up. I had dinner after my shower and it was really good. I even got a truffle for dessert. Mommy said it was the last one. I don't know if I believe her, but maybe if I'm a good girl she will make more for me.

I would like to know who took my sweet, loving and well-behaved kid and replaced her with a tantrum throwing monster!!!!

Rain, Rain Go Away

When Mommy woke me up this morning, I was so not ready. I tried to go back to sleep, but Mommy kept singing her morning song to me and I finally had to get up. She sure knows how to ruin a good dream. When I got dressed, I wanted Daddy to put my white shoes on, but they don't fit any more. I made him shove my feet in my shoes, but he just couldn't get them in. He doesn't understand the price you have to pay for fashion sometimes. I ended up wearing other shoes instead.

It was another day of being able to watch Word World! I had 2 yogurt pouches for breakfast, but I really wanted to have some truffles too. Daddy told me they were all gone, and Mommy told me I couldn't have one until later. They really need to get their stories straight.

I had more breakfast at school. I had 4 pancakes for breakfast. They were so good! Daycare Grandma makes a mean blueberry pancake. I also walked all around school practicing saying all of the words I know and learning new words too. When Mommy came to pick me up, I was busy playing school at a desk. I was definitely ready to go because I wanted to go swimming.

We drove over to the pool, and it started to rain. Mommy let me sit in the front seat and eat my snack and drive the car. When it stopped raining, we went to the pool, but they said that the class was cancelled because it was thundering. I was so mad. I wanted to play in the water, so I went and sat in a puddle. Mommy told me I couldn't sit in the water, but we did splash in all of the puddles on the way to the car. That was fun, but I still wanted to go to the pool. We just went home instead and had dinner.

I was really hungry tonight. I had fruit snacks and a cereal bar for a snack in the car, and then I had crackers, frosted mini wheats, and blueberry craisins before dinner. Mommy thought I wasn't hungry any more, but I wanted to eat the spaghetti Daddy made, and it was so yummy! I even left room for a truffle :)

I had to take a bath tonight because I wrote on myself and had puddle dirt and spaghetti sauce all over me. I really didn't want to, but that Mom lady made me. She is making me do all of this stuff I don't want to do, and it's making me mad.

A note from Mommy:
I am so glad I didn't put Brooklyn in her bathing suit today. It started raining right as we got to the pool, and I knew Brooklyn would be upset. She handled it a little better than I thought she would after we weren't able to get in the pool.

Meltdown Monday

Ohhhh, Monday. I didn't like today. I wanted to sleep longer. I wanted to stay home. I am already wishing it was the weekend. Mommy woke me up, but I still wanted to be sleeping. I tried to go back to sleep on Mommy and Daddy's bed, but Daddy made me get dressed. Since we are back on our normal schedule, I did get to watch Word World. I really love that show. And, I was so distracted that I even let Mommy put my hair up in a ponytail.

When we got to school, I was really sad that Mommy was leaving. I wanted to go to work with her. I just didn't want to go to school today. I heard Ms. Brenda tell Mommy that I had several melt downs at school today. I just wanted my way and I didn't get it. I did get to take an extra nap today.

I came home and had some truffles and frozen yogurt. I didn't feel like eating anything else. Mommy tried to get me to eat more dinner, but I just wanted to eat frozen stuff tonight. My friend Jayden came over while our mommies had a meeting. I didn't feel much like playing, but I took Jayden upstairs and showed him the kitties. Then we got to play with Daddy, Chris, and Jen.

I hope that Tuesday is better. I get to go swimming tomorrow, so it should be a good day!





A note from Mommy:
This day was all about the meltdown. I don't know if it's the weather, or if Brooklyn is growing, but she sure was a handful today at home and school. I really hope tomorrow is a better day.

What a Weekend!

Wow, what a busy weekend!

Friday was a good day for me. I went to school and we got to play in the water outside. All of the kids in my class got in the baby pool and we just talked about life for 15 minutes or so. It was pretty cool that all of the teachers let us chill without interrupting us. I was reading about animals with my teacher when Mommy came and picked me up. We went to swim lessons, but they weren't so fun because our teacher wasn't there. The girl who was in her place didn't really tell us what to do, but she still let us play with toys, so I guess it was ok.  We had Thai food for dinner. I had edamame, which is really good. I could totally eat that every day. But, we don't get to eat Thai food very much. And Mommy tried to give me tofu, but that was yucky.

On Saturday, we got to go to a water park. It was so much fun. I went to the little kids waterslide. It was a froggy that you could climb in, and then slide down the tongue. It was awesome. I went down about 10 times, and I wanted to go back even more times. Then Mommy let me go on the bigger kids slide. I climbed up through spraying water all by myself and played up on the top deck. Then I went down the big slide all by myself. I think Mommy was a little bit scared, but I was ok. I think Mommy doesn't think I'm as much of a big girl as I really am. We left after about an hour and a half. I was so tired from climbing up the all the slides that I actually did need a nap. Besides, I wanted to be well rested to pick Daddy up.

Mommy and I went to the airport to pick Daddy up. He flew home from Colorado, and we got to see his plane go right over our car. We ran into the airport, and we saw Daddy coming down the escalator. We ran over and gave him a big hug and then we waited for his luggage. I was so happy to see Daddy, but I really was glad to be at the airport so I could watch all of the people. We went home and had some dinner. I got to watch Finding Nemo, which was so awesome. I wish I could be a fish.

When I woke up this morning, Grandma Zsa Zsa was here! I got her to sit with me and read books and watch Sesame Street. We played for awhile and then Grandpa came down. I couldn't believe it! And then Uncle Eric and Aunt Danielle came over. Everyone came to see me because I'm so cool. We had breakfast and played. Then we looked at pictures. I was trying to tell Grandpa how to use his computer, but he seemed to have a handle on it. Mommy made me take a nap, and I was so mad. Everyone came to see me and I just don't know why I had to take a nap because they were missing me. I did get to see Grandma and Grandpa before they left though.

I played and read books and Skyped with Grandma and Grandpa Pepin. I was really sad when Chris and Jen went on their motorcycle. So many people had already left today, I just didn't want them to go. I was so excited when they came back. I wanted to check on their kitties to make sure they were ok, so I went upstairs and opened the door to their room all by myself. Mommy and Chris couldn't believe it. I think I'm about ready to have my own big girl bed and be able to go up and down the stairs all by myself.

A note from Mommy:

We are so glad John is home! Brooklyn has behaved so much better since her dad has been home. And, I can't believe how independent she has become. We are on the downhill slide to 2 years old.

Another Day, Another Swim

Once again, Mom has messed up my schedule. She got me up at 7, so I totally missed Word World. I bet when Daddy comes home, I'll get to watch it with him like all of the other times. But, Mommy did dress me in a cute outfit and actually picked out the right shoes to wear with it.

When I got to school, all of the kids were playing in the inflatable jungle pool. Even though I like playing with them, I don't like the part of the day when Mommy leaves. It's not like I want her to hang out all day, but I like to hang out with her in the morning. Anyway, she ended up picking me up early from school. I was dancing and singing and having such a good time that I didn't even realize she was there. And, when I saw Mommy, I decided I still wanted to stay for a few more minutes. I thought we were going to go home or to the pool, but Mommy took me to the doctor. She said that since I had been coughing for a few weeks and she found out she had bronchitis this morning that I had to go to the doctor too. Just because Mommy is sick doesn't mean I'm sick. I do feel a little bad though because I think I coughed on Mommy one too many times and gave her my cough.

I got to see the fish in the doctor waiting room again, which was cool. And, I played with their phone. I was going to use the Yellow Pages to call someone, but I couldn't decide who to call. When they called my name, I had to get on the scale again. What is up with that? I was so upset that I started crying. Why does my weight matter? Well, anyway the nurse was trying to listen to my heart and take my temp. I was just not in the mood, so I made it as hard as possible on her. She told the Nurse Practitioner, who tried to bribe me with a sticker. She thought it worked, but really it just made me suspicious. I did let her look in my ears and listen to my chest, but I hate when they stick the popsicle stick in my mouth! I tried to make it really hard on her, but she still got me to open my mouth. Then she told Mommy that my chest was clear and that I was fine and that it's normal for kids my age to have a cough for 2 or 3 weeks. I could have told Mommy that. But no, she wasted $20 on the doctor instead of taking me to dinner or shopping. She sure has a lot to learn from me.

We went home and talked to Daddy and Alex on Skype. I don't think they think I want to talk to them, but really I just want to run around. I don't like to sit around too much. So, I left Mommy talking to them and I went upstairs to visit the kitties, and then I made Jen get me a snack. She wouldn't give me the whole bag of dried fruit, so I got really mad. I thought Mommy would let me, but she didn't either. What is wrong with these ladies?

I went to my swim lessons and we blew bubbles, kicked, floated on our backs, jumped off the wall, and got to jump around in the shallow end. It was so fun. Then we got to play for a little bit. I love swimming. I wish I was a fish.

I took a shower when I got home and then went to see what Chris was having for dinner. Mommy shared her cucumbers and tomatoes with me, and then I made Jen read some books to me. She is a really good reader. When she gets to teach in her own classroom, I bet all of her kids will like when she reads to them.

A note from Mommy:
So, Brooklyn is definitely at the age where she doesn't like to pay attention. For most of the swim lesson, she is trying to see what all of the other kids and people around the pool are doing, so she doesn't do what she is supposed to. It's a little bit frustrating, but at least she is having fun.

I love pool time!

It was another long day today although Mommy did let me sleep in. I think she is tired of watching Word World or something because I keep getting up too late to watch it.

I had a pretty good day at school, but all day I was looking forward to going swimming. I was so excited when Mommy came to pick me up so that we could go to the pool. I ate my snack bar on the way so that I would be strong and have energy for my class. We got there a little early so I had to wait my turn to get in the pool.

I have such a good time at my swimming class. Today we blew bubbles, kicked, swam with our arms, and jumped off the edge of the pool. We also were supposed to float on our back, but I wanted to see all of the people instead, so I pulled Mommy's hair so that she would let me flip back over. I am sure learning some good tricks to get my way!

When we got in the car, I was hungry but I didn't want to eat the rest of my cereal bar. I wanted something else, but she didn't have anything else to give me. I was so mad that it made me cry. She needs to start bringing all of the stuff I like so that I have choices.

We took a shower when we got home to wash all of the pool off so we wouldn't be itchy. And then we got to Skype with Daddy. I really like that I can see him everyday when he isn't here.

I don't know what's up, but every time we get in the car Brooklyn starts screaming and crying. She won't even indicate what she wants. And so we begin the journey through the Terrible Twos.

Swimming Summer

Today was the first morning that Mommy got me ready for school. She had my swim suit out and I wanted to wear it, but she wouldn't let me. She said it was for later. I know Daddy is having fun in Colorado, but I really miss him getting me ready in the morning. I didn't even get to watch Word World today!

Mommy took me to school. I was really wishing that I was back at home sleeping, but my teacher let me cuddle for awhile before I ate breakfast, so it wasn't too bad. I had a fun day at school, and when Mommy came to pick me up, I was riding on the bicycle merry go round. That thing is so fun. I wish we could get one of those at home.

I was still kind of mad that Mommy wouldn't let me wear my swim suit this morning so I whined the whole way home. I think that showed her. I got to put on my swim suit and have a cereal bar when I got home. That did make me feel better. I was afraid that Mommy was going to forget about taking me to the pool. The good news is that she said I get to go to swim lessons all week!

I have the same swim teacher as last year. Today we practiced blowing bubbles, kicking, and floating on our backs. I was awesome. I'm way better that most of the kids in my class. There are some bigger kids that blow big bubbles, but I know that I will be the best one by the end of the class.

Tonight I got to talk to Daddy on Skype. I sure miss him. It's kind of weird seeing him on the computer, but I'm really glad I get to talk to him.

A note from Mommy:
I think Brooklyn is still recovering from traveling this weekend. She sure was a mess today. Good thing she is so cute so I can tolerate all of the crying and whining for no apparent reason.

Home again, home again

So, today I came back home. I did get to go to breakfast with Alex before we left. I really like spending time with her. She is a cool big sister. I wish I got to spend more time with her, but I get to hang out with her in CA in November.

Daddy drove Mommy and me to Denver so we could go on our airplane. We didn't have any good music playing so I decided to take a nap until we go to the airport.

Daddy dropped us off. I was sad to leave, but I was excited to see my puppies and the kitties at our house. The Denver airport is so cool. They have so many escalators and I got to go on them again. And, I got to go on the train. I ate some yogurt and had milk for lunch and then decided I was still hungry. I wanted to eat  some popcorn, but Mommy wasn't letting me have all of it so I spilled it on the floor. Mommy was mad, but she got even more upset when I started eating it off the floor. I don't know what the big deal is. I mean, it was probably past the 5 second rule, but the floor looked pretty clean.

After lunch, we got to go on the escalators. I think we went at least 10 times. I was trying to wear Mommy out before we got on the plane. When I got bored of that, we went and watched all of the people working on the ground at the airport, and we also watched the planes go into the air. I like watching people, and I was trying to wave people who were working. They must have been too busy because they didn't see me.

It was finally time to get on the plane. I was trying to sit in my own seat, but the flight was full. I didn't want to sit in Mommy's lap, but then we started watching all of the people putting the bags on the plane. They were really nice and they waved at me a lot. Maybe one day I will be able to work at the airport and wave to kids too.

We finally got home and Chris and Jen came to pick us up. I missed them. I rode in the back seat with Chris, and then when we got home Jen read all of my books to me. I'm pretty tired since I didn't get to nap much, so I am going to try to go to bed on time tonight. Swim lessons start tomorrow!

A note from Mommy:
Wow, travelling with a toddler by yourself is a lot of work. Brooklyn didn't want to stop moving in the airport, or in the plane. I finally got her to sleep after almost an hour. Thankfully!

Blogging from Pueblo, CO

So, I totally slacked off on my blogging the last few days, but I have been soooooooo busy. Anyway, I am here in Pueblo, CO visiting my sister and Grandma and Grandpa Pepin. So, let's go back to Friday so I can get all of my fabulous fans caught up on the last few days.

Friday started out just like any other day. I tried to stay with Silas in his crate again, but Mommy told me we had to go to school so that we could go on a plane ride later that day. I was taking an awesome nap when Mommy came to pick me up from school. We went home and packed all of our stuff in the car so we could go to the airport. I love going places! We had to wait in a long line for security at the airport, but I checked out some of the other babies that were travelling. I was definitely way cuter than they were. I was wearing my pink dress with cherries on it, and you just can't get much cuter than that.

After we got through security, I took Mommy on a tour of the airport. We ran around and looked at some art stuff from all of these other countries. Mommy said that it was from Austin's sister cities. I don't know what that means. I mean, how can a city have a sister? Does a city have a mommy and daddy? Well, anyway, the stuff was pretty cool. We finally got on the plane and I got to sit with Daddy by the window. We looked at all of the bags being loaded on the plane, and a guy on the ground even waved at me. I tell you, I am just so irresistable! We got to read and color and eat snacks. It was a fun time. I sat with Daddy and then with Mommy and then I looked at all of the people around us. They didn't really play with me though.

When we got to Denver, I got to go on some escalators and then on a train. It was so fun. I wish I could go to the airport everyday. Then we went on some more escalators and walked until we found Grandma Pepin. We had to wait for our stuff for awhile, but that was ok. I hung out with Grandma and checked out all the stuff going on. And then, we got to ride in an elevator. I'm telling you, if I could live at the Denver airport, I totally would. We got to go to dinner at P.F. Chang's and then we drove to Pueblo. I fell asleep a little bit, but that's ok because it was really late. I got to sleep with Mommy and Daddy that night. Don't tell them, but I was so tired that I didn't really know where I was and I was a little bit scared.

On Saturday, I got to see my sister Alex. I love her. She is so cool. We went to lunch and she let me try her ice cream brownie. I was so good! Yummy. Then we went to see her in the play Hello Dolly. Alex had the best part. She was the tapdancing horse. She did such a good job. Alex was also in the chorus and we got to see her come out on stage a lot. She kept smiling at me. I know she could see me! I fell asleep for a little bit in the second part, but that's just because I didn't see Alex very much. I did wake up in the end so I could see her bow for everyone. I am so proud of her. I told Mommy that I want to be in a play too.

We went back to Grandma and Grandpa's house and Alex came over some more. She hung out with me and Mommy and ate some pizza. I went to play with Daddy after awhile because he was on the computer and I had to help him do his homework. If I didn't sit with him and help him type, I just don't know what he would do. I like to be helpful.

Today we went to see Great-Grandma Payne. Daddy's uncles, Shane and Bill were there and also his aunt, Lori. There were some cousins too, and my sister Alex. I got to play Rummy for awhile. I think Mommy gave me all of the bad cards, but Daddy let me put cards on the table. After that, we went to Barnes & Noble. They don't have an escalator at this one, but it had a lot of books that I wanted to read. I really like books. Grandma bought me a cool Dora the Explorer book and drawing thingy. We went back home after that and I took a short nap. Mommy rudely woke me up from my beauty sleep, but I forgave her when I found out we were going to watch Alex sing at a recital. She did a really good job. I wanted to go sit with her, but Mommy wouldn't let me. I pointed at her and waved instead, but I did get to see her for a little bit after the recital.

When we got home, Mommy made me take another nap. I had her fooled though. When she left to go to the store, I woke up because I wanted to play with Uncle Baby the cat. He makes me chase him around. I sure he stayed in one room like Chris and Jen's cats. Then I decided to play in Daddy's suitcase. You might not realize this, but it is really comfy. I played with Daddy's phone and read some of Mommy's magazines while I was lounging in there.

I went outside to help Grandpa make some steaks, but he looked like he had it under control. I decided that I was going to drive his tractor instead. Mommy made me get off of it after awhile and I was so mad. Sometimes she is so mean. I stared out the door looking at the pretty red tractor for a long time and then it was time to eat dinner. I ate some salad and chewed on a little bit of meat, but I decided that it was way too boring. I left the table so I could play with Uncle Baby. He is such a silly cat.

I took a little break and looked at my Dora book with Daddy. Drawing is a lot of fun. And then, it got boring, so I chased Uncle Baby around again. Mommy said that we are leaving tomorrow. I am sure going to be sad. I love Alex and I miss her a lot. I also love Grandma and Grandpa. It's cool that we get to Skype though. Sometimes I even get to Skype with Uncle Baby.

A note from Mommy:

Well, considering Brooklyn has hardly napped the entire time we have been here, it's been a great trip. She watched almost all of Hello, Dolly without disrupting anyone, and then finally fell asleep. I have a feeling that it will take her a few days to recover from this trip, but at least she will sleep well at night. Brooklyn and I are headed back to Austin tomorrow by ourselves, so cross your fingers that everything will go well and that she can sit semi-still for another 2 hour flight.

I love Silas!

So, I got up this morning and was in a good mood. Daddy helped me get dressed in one of my new outfits that Grandma Zsa Zsa made for me. But then, Mommy wanted me to put my lotion on while sitting on the bed. That was not what I wanted. I wanted her to help me with it in the bathroom. I didn't want to sit down. I wanted my way. That's the only way. So, I showed them. I cried and pouted and screamed and rolled on the floor. For some reason, it doesn't seem to be working as well as it used to, but I know that I am the best tantrum thrower around.

I watched Word World, which is my favorite way to start the day. When it was time to go, I thought I would play a trick on Mom. She was putting the dogs away, and I decided that I was going to stay with Silas. I got in his crate and made Mommy lock us in. She kept trying to open the door to make me come out, but I didn't want to. I was playing with Silas, but he ran away one of the times Mom opened the door. I finally made her crawl in the crate to get me out. I was so mad. I really just wanted to stay with Silas. I like school and everything, but sometimes you just need to take a break from it all.

Anyway, I was mad the whole way to school. Mommy tried to be nice to me and got me a mini scone at Starbucks, but I didn't want it. I just wanted to go home and hang with my buddy.

Mommy picked me up from school and she wouldn't give me my pacifier. She sure is being mean today. First, she didn't give me my lotion where I wanted it, then I didn't get to stay with Silas. Hopefully tomorrow she will give me whatever I want. I totally deserve it.

I had a protein bar, a chocolate popsicle, and a piece of cucumber for dinner. I just didn't feel like doing anything. Well, I really wanted to blow bubbles, but I couldn't find them. Mommy made me take a bath. Ugh! Daddy came in though and he wrapped me in my ducky towel and helped me put my p.j.'s on. Then we read some books. I totally love books, especially my Baby Einstein Alphabooks. Those are the best.






A note from Mommy:
Brooklyn was sure in a mood today. She threw several tantrums and was rolling all over the floor. I hope that she takes a good nap tomorrow so that we can have a pleasant plane ride.

Mornings come too early

It was another early morning for me. Even though I went to bed early, I was so tired and didn't really want to get up. But, once I got going, it wasn't so bad. I watched Word World and then Mommy took me to school. I made sure to pack everything in my purse so that I would have everything I need. I just need to figure out how to keep that darn thing on my shoulder!

I played a lot at school today. Maybe my hour and 15 minute nap helped with that. My friend Ari and I marched in circles playing maracas for about an hour. It was so fun! I love playing musical instruments. Maybe I'll have a rock band when I get older. I have a drum, tamborine, xylophone, and some other cool instruments at home. Plus, Mommy has a piano app on her phone that I get to play with. I'm a good musician.

Grandma Zsa Zsa sent me a package in the mail today. She made me some cool outfits and a hat. I had some other stuff to do, so I didn't try them on, but they look cool.

When I got home, I got to go upstairs and play with Chris and Daddy. My favorite thing to do up there is to see the kitties. I really love them. I played a lot on the stairs. Daddy thought I was going to go downstairs, and Mommy told him I kept going back up. They are silly and didn't know I was trying to trick them.

We finally came downstairs and ate dinner. I had some yummy lasagna leftovers.

A note from Mommy:
Brooklyn loves going up and down the stairs. I sure hope she remembers this when she gets older and has to go to the gym and work out. Maybe she'll be an aerobic instructor!

Tired Out Tuesday

Today was a long, long day. Mommy woke me up way too early this morning. I didn't want to get up, I didn't want to get dressed, and I didn't want to eat breakfast. I also didn't really want to go to school, but Ms. Brenda cuddled with me when I got there, so it made it better.

I did have a fun day at school today. I played at the sand table and got sand all over me. It was on my shoe when Mommy came to pick me up so I took off my shoe so that she could clean it. I cannot be seen with one sandy shoe and one brown shoe!

It was a slow night tonight. I didn't really feel like eating any dinner, but I did play around on the kitchen chair. Unfortunately I stepped through the big slot and hurt my leg. I had a big pink mark on my leg, but Mommy did cuddle with me, and I did like that.

Daddy was busy making guacamole and doing school work, so I didn't get to spend a lot of time with him tonight. I still love him, and I know how much I like school, so I'm sure he does too. I hope I get to do as much school as my Daddy does.

Mommy said I had to go to bed early tonight. I'm a big girl, and I really can stay up late, but I am pretty tired today, so I don't mind it. Just don't tell her!










A note from Mommy:
The super crabby baby was sent to bed early tonight. She was so tired that she was ready to go to bed as soon as I put her down. Hopefully tomorrow will be a much more exciting day!

Bubble Blast Monday

Well, today was just another Monday. Wake up, school, you know. I did get a new teacher at school today, and they put a piece of masking tape on my shirt with my name. If nothing else, it will help Daddy call me Brooklyn instead of Alex.

I was so excited because Daddy picked me up from school today. He always plays me some good music in the car and gives me some crackers to snack on. Yum! You know, I really like the music Daddy plays in his car. There is usually a good melody and you can sing along and understand the words. I don't want to hurt his feelings, but secretly I really like the music Mommy listens to. Daddy doesn't like it, but the bass is pumpin' and I can bob my head to the music. Can I get a what, what!!

When we got home, Mommy made me get on Skype with her to talk to her friend Heather. I don't know Heather, and I have better things to do like throw my baseball around, but I did get to see a cute baby named Xander. I'm into the older men, so I really wasn't interested, but I think that he'll be able to pick up a lot of ladies at the swimming pool.

While Mommy was making dinner, I found where she hid my bubbles. Jen came outside to play with me, and then Chris and Daddy came out too. I love bubbles! They are so fun, even if I spilled most of the bubble blowing stuff out of the bottle. I still made some good bubbles. I didn't want to come inside, but I did. And I took a shower. Then I ate some yummy lasagna and some tomatoes. Yum! I sure like staying up late so I can eat dinner with our family.

A note from Mommy:
Oh my! Brooklyn loves her some bubbles. She was mad when she ran out of bubbles, and she was mad when I wouldn't let her play with the other bubbles she found. Needles to say, the bubbles have now been moved to a different cabinet that she can't reach so I can control when she plays with bubbles!

Princess in Pearls

It was another great day. I sure love the weekends because I have so much fun with Mom, Dad, Chris, and Jen. I was a little bummed out because my playdate got cancelled, but I still had fun.

I woke up in such a good mood! I was singing all of the songs I know until Mommy came and got me out of bed. Then I watched Sesame Street with Daddy and headed to the grocery store with Mommy and Jen. I took my new purse with me, and the check out ladies thought I was so cute that they gave me a balloon with a puppy on it. I am so special!

Being so bubbly and happy kind of wears me out, so I took a nap when we got home. I knew everyone had a lot of work to do anyway, and I didn't want to have to help. I like dusting and sweeping and throwing stuff away, but I'm not good at filing stuff yet. I think I need to learn how to read a little bit better first.

I got to talk to Grandma and Grandpa Pepin today on Skype. I also saw Grandma Zsa Zsa for a minute, but I really wanted to go upstairs and see the kitties. Mom and Dad wouldn't let me go upstairs, but Jen is so nice and she let me go see the kitties. Then we went outside and played with my new Legos and puzzle in the backyard. Mommy was playing her iPod music so we had a little dance party. I sure like that music with a good beat.

After running around so much, I really hate to have to sit in my chair to eat. Mommy snuck me in the chair, and I was so mad. I just wanted to run around the house with my tortilla. I mean, isn't the point of a taco that it's portable so you can eat it on the go?

A note from Mommy:
Brooklyn is sure focused on the new cats in our house. She remembers they are here and wants to go see them at least 3 or 4 times a day. I don't know what she is going to do when Chris and Jen get their own place. I guess she will just have to have some sleep overs!

Super Saturday

Wow, today was such a busy day. I wouldn't tell this to anyone else, but I'm almost too tired to write my blog!

I got to watch my two favorite parts of Sesame Street this morning-Abby's Flying Fairy School and Elmo's World. That Elmo is just so cool, and he writes some good books. He also plays some good music on his piano!

After that, Mom dragged me to go to the garage sales everyone in the neighborhood was having. I really was not in the mood to go, but I finally let her plug the iPod into my stroller, and I jammed out to Bob Marley. That guy sings some good songs. They make me feel really relaxed-almost like I'm sitting at the pool. Anyway, this whole garage sale thing wasn't very exciting at first. Mom bought some big box, which looked like boy toys. Later, I found out how much fun taking all of the giant Legos out of the box and throwing them at Daddy was! I also got a puzzle and a red purse with puppies and shiny beads on it. I loaded all of my stuff in it right away. It's kind of big, but a girl needs room to fit cheddar whales, a phone, a water bottle, and a monkey in it. I think it will do for now until I need to start carrying notebooks and crayons too.

While Mom and Dad were getting ready to go, I decided to go through Daddy's wallet. Sometimes he has some cool stuff in there. I took all of his money and stuffed it down my shirt. I figured that no one would look for it there, but it turns out that Daddy is a pretty smart guy and he took his money back and put it in his wallet. That was kind of a bummer.

I took a ride with Mommy and Daddy to the bank and then to Starbucks. Man, I love that place! I got a Strawberry & Creme, but it kind of spilled on me when I tried to eat the whipped cream. Then, it spilled again all over the carpet when I was trying to open a package I got in the mail. These shirts were in an envelope for me. I love getting free stuff. I'm so glad that I don't have to pay for anything. It must be because everyone thinks I am so cute. I also learned how to use my Daddy's drill. He said that he is going to let me work on projects, and even buy me my own toolbelt!

We decided to go to lunch with Chris and Jen, and then we got to go to my favorite place...Barnes & Noble. I rode on the escalator, looked at books, read magazines, and looked at all of the cool stuffed animals. I grabbed all of the ones I could hold at the same time with the books I had,  but Mommy told me I had to leave all of them at the store so that I could share with the other kids. I like sharing, and it would make me sad if other kids couldn't play with these cool stuffed animals.

I took a nap when we got home because I had a long day. I didn't really think that I should take a nap, but Mommy was getting kind of cranky and I needed a break from her. Geeze, sometimes if that lady doesn't get a nap she is a real crabby pants. I'm glad I am not like that! I took a shower when I got up and then went outside to help Chris cut off Daddy's hair. I wanted my hair cut off too, but Mommy said no. Sometimes, she is just such a buzz kill. I can't wait until I can decide how I want my hair to look. I really like when I got to have a green mohawk at school. I ran around in the backyard and did some army crawling on the back step. I got kind of dirty, but that's how you know it's been a fun day.







A note from Mommy:
It seems like we were on the go all day today. Brooklyn and I searched garage sales in our neighborhood for about 2 hours this morning, and she was really patient. I suppose it helps distracting her with things for herself. And, when we found that Brooklyn had stuffed money down her shirt, the first thing that came to mind was a future stripper. I guess that would be one way to pay her college tuition! I think we need to search out escalators in our area because Brooklyn loves riding them continuously. She took off running as soon as she saw it. She has totally worn me out today.

Fabulous Friday!

I am so glad it's Friday! I can't wait to be able to spend all weekend playing with the kitties. I thought Mommy was going to stop by Starbucks for me this morning and buy me a scone, but she didn't. I did get to put on some of Mommy's new lip gloss though. It's kind of gold and shiny, and it matched the gold dots on my elephant shirt.

I had a pretty fun day even though it rained again and we didn't get to play in the water at school. I got to look at a lot of pictures at school, and learned how to say fish and elephant. I also took an hour and a half nap today. I don't like to admit when I'm tired, but I think that going to bed late is making me sleep more at school. That's ok, but I don't get to play with Daycare Grandma in the baby room as much.

When Mommy came to pick me up, she put on some Justin Timberlake music for me. Me and Monkey were dancing in the back. That guy sure knows how to drop a good beat! When we got home, Mommy gave me  a present from Ms. Linda from her work. It was a pink kitty. We picked up Daddy, Jen, and Chris so we could go to dinner. They all thought my kitty was super cool. I put it in my polka dot purse and took it in to dinner with me. The kitty looked like she had some chapped whiskers, so I shared my chapstick. I ate lasagna for dinner and it was soooo good. I ate the whole thing. Mmmmmmm!

We came home and I saw a bunny rabbit. I chased it all the way down the street and into the empty lot. It ran away. I wanted to keep chasing it, but mommy made me go home. But, she did say we could look for more bunnies tomorrow. They are so fast! I need to practice my running more. I fed the kitties when I got home. I think they like me now. I wonder if it's because I bring them food. Whatever it is, I don't care. I like them. I made Jen read to me and then I talked on my phone for a long time.

 

I'm getting a little cough, but hopefully I won't be sick this weekend because I want to do a lot of fun stuff!

A note from Mommy:

Brooklyn loves animals. She loves live animals. She loves stuffed animals. She loves animals in books. She loves animals that have been colored on paper. Maybe she'll be a vet. Or a pet store owner. Or a lawyer :)

Buggy Day

Oooh, I heard my favorite song on the radio on the way home from school-Sexy Back. It's got a good beat and you can dance in your seat. Mom saw me dancing, and she kept singing to me after we got out of the car. She can't sing very well, but I think it's funny so I don't tell her to stop.

This morning as we were leaving for school, a big cricket jumped inside the house. I thought it was so cool, but Mom did not like it at all. She kept kicking it to try to get it out the door, and it kept jumping back in. It was the most fun game ever! Mom finally threw the cricket outside, and we left.

I saw a doodlebug crawling on the sidewalk, so we stopped at watched it. I wanted to kick it like Mom kicked the cricket. I stepped on it, and it got squished into the sidewalk. It wasn't on the bottom of my shoe, but it didn't crawl any more after that. I think bugs are cool, and I like stepping on them.

I wanted Mommy to stay at school with me again, but I did have a good time the rest of the day. I've been drinking out of my cups at school like a big kid. Today I drank a cup of blue Kool-Aid without even spilling it on my shirt. I was really proud of myself. I also let my friend Kade use Monkey and I covered him with my blanket while he was taking a nap. I started patting him, but Daycare Grandma didn't want me to wake him up.

When we got home, I went upstairs to see the kitties. I love them! I know one day they are going to love me and let me play with them a lot. Then I went outside with Daddy and Chris while they were grilling. I wanted to help, but Chris said it was too hot. He doesn't know how how responsible I am. I know what hot is! Anwyay, I played outside and then ate some dinner. Then I had to ride on my horse for awhile. I am having so much fun now that I'm allowed to stay up late!

A note from Mommy:

I can't believe that Brooklyn stepped on a bug! I really think that she expected it to come back to life, but instead it was smashed into the ground. She kept looking at it, and I think she finally realized that it was not going to move any more. I was also surprised when Brooklyn was dancing to Sexy Back. She does know good dance music!
