Well, I have to catch my fan up on what's been going on the past couple of days. I have been so tired that I haven't really felt like blogging, but now I'm back.
Tuesday was a pretty good day. The weather has been so nice and we have been able to play outside all afternoon. I was pretty dirty when Mommy came to pick me up though. She surprised me and came a little bit early. She said that she was sad she was going to be out of town on Wednesday, so she wanted to spend some time with me. We went home and played in the backyard. I helped her water the plants, and I even figured out how to turn the water on all by myself! Bella drank some water while I washed my hands. Then I ran around with Mommy while Daddy cooked dinner. The rest of the night was regular, but Mommy seemed kind of sad when she put me to bed.
Daddy surprised me on Wednesday when he woke me up. He never comes to get me in the morning, so I thought we were going to stay home and play all day. I thought Mommy was hiding from me, but she called when Daddy was helping me get dressed. She was going to get on an airplane and fly in the air to work. Daddy took me to school and picked me up. We stopped by the McDonald's with an elephant on the playground and got a strawberry milkshake. We went home and let the dogs out and fed them. I was really helpful because Mommy wasn't home yet. I thought she would be home for dinner, but she called me on the phone and said she had been on an airplane, and was waiting at another airport to get on a plane to come home. I was sad when I talked to her because she said that she wouldn't see me at all that day. I did have a good time hanging out with Daddy though. I even got to stay up late because I kept telling him that I wasn't tired. Haha! Daddy is wrapped around my little finger.
Mommy came and woke me up this morning. I was so happy to see her. I even let her be the Huggie Monster. We hung out with Daddy until he had to go to work and then we got to watch all of Word World and some Elmo. I had a good day at school, and I was playing outside again when Mommy picked me up. We went to Target and looked at a lot of Halloween stuff. There were a lot of cool things that I wanted to buy, but Mommy said that we could come back and buy that stuff later. We went home and hung out for awhile. After dinner, I sat on the big girl potty and then took a bath. Mommy was getting my stuff ready for tomorrow, and she got out my trick or treat bucket. I forgot that it was red and had eyes on it. I played with it and put my milk and monkey in there. It's kind of like a big purse. I also got to watch The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. It was a pretty good show, but definitely no Elmo!
A note from Mommy
It's been awhile since I had to be out of town. And, although it was just for a day, I didn't get to see Brooklyn at all. I'm glad that she and John can use that time to bond, but he said that she kept thinking that upstairs time was play time instead of bed time. Guess we will have to start sharing bedtime duties!
As a modern day kid, Brooklyn has decided she needs her own blog. We feel like we are behind the times since she is starting this blog at a year and a half instead of right out of the womb.

Pumpkin Patch-Round 3
What a day! Monday mornings always come so early. I was totally not ready to wake up, but I did so that Mom would stop bugging me. I really missed Daddy since I didn't get to spend a lot of time with him yesterday. Plus, he is the best butt cover changer in the world...or at least in this house.
I didn't want to go to school this morning. I just wanted to cuddle up in Daddy's chair and watch tv with Mommy until it was nap time. Oh well, I'm learning that life isn't always fair. I did have a good time at school today. I got paint all over me, and I was dirty from the playground. Daddy picked me up and took me to the pumpkin patch. I got to drive Daddy's car for awhile while I ate M&M's and fruit snacks. Mommy took so long to get to the pumpkin patch that I thought she wasn't even going to show up. When she did get there, we got a wagon, and I helped put all of the pumpkins in there. I counted up to 40! After we paid for them, Daddy, Mommy, and I made a line and passed pumpkins into the car.
We went to Chick-Fil-A for dinner, but I didn't really want to eat anything. I just wanted to look at all of the cows and pumpkins. When we got home, I helped Mommy take all of the pumpkins into the garage and line them up. It was hard work running up and down the driveway! We talked to our neighbors for awhile and then I sat on the Princess Potty for awhile before I took a bath. Then, I got to sit on the big girl potty. I just don't know why she always has to take pictures of me. Ugh!
A note from Mommy
Brooklyn loves her some pumpkins! She cannot get enough of it, although half the time she does think pumpkins are apples. I can't believe how helpful she is. She even told me good job and clapped for me when I was moving pumpkins. Kids are funny.

A Julie Weekend
I had such a great weekend, even though it was sooooo busy. Mommy surprised me on Friday when she came to pick me up with my friend Julie. She came to see me last year, but I still remembered that I liked her. We took Julie by all of the cows on the way home so she could see them. Julie got to play with cows in her vet school, so she told me about it. She even got to stick her hand in a cow's butt! I thought that was really cool. When we got home, I made Julie read to me while Mommy was making dinner. I followed her upstairs and took Julie to my room to show her all of my books. After dinner, I showed Julie my princess potty and then I took a bath. We played until it was time to go to bed.
Today was pretty normal in the morning. I got up and we went to get groceries. I wanted Mommy to carry me since we went to the store that doesn't have cars to drive. That kind of sucks. At least I got to have hot chocolate when I got home. Mommy was making some treats, so I watched Scooby Do with Daddy and made him take me to the big girl potty. Then we got to play with all of Mommy's shoes. Mommy made me take a nap, and I was kind of mad about that. I decided to sing until I fell asleep. When I woke up, I got to watch tv while I ate lunch. Then Mommy and I went to a store, and then to another playdate. We had a good time with the other kids, and I got to make art with crayons and stickers. It was so fun! And, I got a ruler with a pumpkin and a witch. Since we were gone so long, I missed Daddy and spend the rest of the night with him.
A note from Mommy
I am trying to find a good balance between overscheduling and not doing enough. Not only am I worn out, but Brooklyn was crabby from the time we left our playdate until she went to bed. She was rolling around on the floor, crying, and kicking her legs.
On Saturday, I was so excited that Julie came to gymnastics with me. She watched me go on the balance beams and on the trampolines. I even showed her my pumpkin stamps after my class was over. Mommy made me take a nap when I got home, and I was so mad because I really wanted to play with my friend. But, we got to eat lunch together before we had to take Julie to the airport. I was so sad because I thought Mommy was leaving, but she said only Julie had to go. I was still sad and cried because I like Julie and she was really nice to me. We went back home and had to clean up the house because Mommy made a playdate for me. A boy named Tyler came over and we played with my books and toys and ate bananas and brownies. It was pretty fun, and I get to have another playdate with him again some time. I ate some popcorn for dinner and accidentally kicked the bucket off the couch. I blamed it on Mommy, but I finally admitted that I did it. I did help
Mommy vacuum up the popcorn though.

Tinkle Thursday
So, I'm going to skip all the way to the end of the day to report my most exciting event, or at least it was exciting to Mommy and Daddy. After dinner, I went to the bathroom to sit on my Princess potty and read my magazine. My potty played a song to me, but when we checked, there was nothing in there. I sat down to read again, and I surprised Mommy by going pee pee! We looked in the potty, and it was in there. I was so happy, and Mommy and Daddy clapped for me. I even got to flush it in the big girl potty. That was pretty much the best thing that happened to me today. I went to school, played on the playground, and was really happy when Daddy picked me up. When we got home, I got to watch the Elmo that we recorded the other day. Sometimes I like watching him in the afternoon because I get to watch the whole show.
A note from Mommy
I think we are on our way to being serious about potty training. Yay!! Finally!!

No WeeWee Wednesday
I know you are all going to be surprised, but I was totally ready to get up this morning even though I went to bed late last night. It was just a typical day again. I watched some Word World, made the dogs stop playing, and had fruit snacks as a pre-breakfast meal. Mommy and I sang songs all the way to school, and we also saw a lot of cows this morning.
I played a lot at school and Mommy came and picked me up again today. I was playing on the playground. One of the other kids was trying to go home with my Mom, but she picked me up and gave me lots of kisses instead of the other kid. That lady sure likes to give me lots of kisses when she picks me up. I think she might miss me more during the day than I miss her. I'm so busy playing with my friends and being outside that I don't have time to miss her.
When we got home, Daddy was already there. I was so excited to see him. He looked very handsome with the new haircut he got. I let Bella and Buddy out of their crates and Daddy let them out the door and fed them. We had our popsicles together, and I took off my shirt since I always get stuff on anything white I wear.
I had a cheesy hot dog wrapped in a tortilla for dinner. It was ok, but I'm really not that big of a hot dog fan. Is that weird for a kid? Daddy and I looked for different things in pictures in my magazine that Grandma and Grandpa Pepin got me. It's way better to look at than the ones Mommy reads. Those are so boring.
I didn't get my Princess Potty to sing to me, but I stayed on there a long time so I could look at everything. Then I took a bath and brushed my teeth. I have to get all of the sugar bugs off my teeth so they don't eat holes in my teeth. That would be yucky!
A note from Mommy
Another night of Brooklyn letting us know that she is ready for bed. She turned off my phone, gave it to me, and went to give John a hug and kiss. I know it's a lot to ask, but I can only hope that this continues forever!!

Cookie Creations
I was so excited to wear my orange Halloween shirt today. I have decided that not only is orange my favorite word, it's also my favorite color. I was going to wear my red shoes with my shirt, but then I decided to wear my white sandals. I heard there was some rule about wearing white at some time in the year, but it's still hot so I wanted to wear sandals.
I got to watch Word World this morning, and even got to see some of Sesame Street. Mommy said that she would record it for me so that I could see the show because it was a new one today. Sometimes she really knows what will make me happy. I went to school and got there right in time because they were eating breakfast-yum! I had to give Ms. Brenda a hug first because I really like her.
I had a good day, but I was still excited when Mommy came and picked me up. I got to play outside the whole time today, and I was eating some cheesy crackers when she showed up. Mom even waited for me to finish eating the crackers before we left, but I stuffed them all in my mouth so we could go home. I was ready to get in the car and watch my movies and sing songs and look for cows by the lake.
When we got home, I helped Mommy let the dogs out and feed them, and then I made her give me a popsicle like Daddy does. Daddy got home right after, so I still got to eat my daily popsicle with him. That's our tradition. We called my sister to wish her a happy birthday, but I didn't sing the song to her. I am going to give her a big hug when I see her in a few weeks to make up for it. I made Mommy read with me a little bit, but then Daddy sat with me and read while Mom went to make dinner. She was taking a long time, so I went and took a bath. I even went pee on my Princess Potty. It sang for me twice!
I made a yummy dinner tonight. I mixed my mac with my spider cookie. A little bit of frosting got on my noodles and it was sooooo good! Silas wanted to share with me, but I didn't let him.
A note from Mommy
Ok, first of all, I learned that Brooklyn is an instigator at school with her buddy Braylon. They start making faces and screaming and playing around during mealtimes at school. On the bright side, apparently it makes the kids think that time is fun and they all eat a lot. Second of all, I wanted to throw up when Brooklyn mixed her mac and cookie. I just can't imagine how that could even taste good. And, lastly, I don't knowwhat is going on with the Princess Potty, but it's playing music when there is nothing in there. Maybe some water from the bathtub got in there. Either way, I think it's encouraging Brooklyn to continue to want to use the potty. Yay!

Early Morning Monday
Of all the days got Mommy to have to go to work early, it had to be on a Monday. What is up with that? She got me up before 6:00. Ugh! I guess I should just be happy I got to see Mommy before she left in the morning. I hung out with Daddy in the morning, and we stopped by McDonald's for orange juice and hash browns, and to see the elephant on top of the playground of course!
I had a great day at school. I slept for a long time because Mommy got me up so early. I guess all of my teachers were happy because they try to eat lunch while all of us kids take a nap. I'm lucky though because I get to be the last kid to go to sleep. Mommy came to pick me up a little bit early. I was playing on the playground, but I ran through all of the rocks to see her because I missed her. My friend Kade also ran with me, but Mommy didn't pick him up because he had green boogers running out of both sides of his nose. It was pretty yucky.
When we got home, Mommy put me to work. I let the dogs out and then she made me help pull flower weeds in the front yard. I didn't want to though because there were ant piles by the grass and I didn't want to get bitten. I watched some movie on Mom's phone and then I supervised her mowing the lawn until Daddy came home. She did pretty good, but I think she needs to clean up the edges some. I was going to take her a popsicle, but she didn't mow the backyard, so I wasn't sure that Mommy really deserved a treat.
We talked to Grandma Zsa Zsa and Grandpa, and then I colored with my markers. I got mad when I couldn't color by myself on the window, but sometimes you just have to compromise. We had some dinner, and then Mommy told me she had a treat for me. She went to some place called an Alsation bakery in some place called Castroville. She said it was on her way home from her trip today, and she got me a spiderweb cookie with a spider on it. I don't know what she was thinking because spiders are YUCKY! But, the icing was pretty good.
I took a shower and got to use my cool new shampoo. I decided I wanted to relax in my swing, so I covered up with my blanket and then I had Mommy swing me and sing to me. Then this dancing show started, so we danced together. I even made Daddy get up and dance with me and Mommy. We had a good time. I like to dance and I like doing somersaults.
A note from Mommy:
We have a smart kid. She kept pointing out all of the ant piles in the grass and yelling Ant! She wouldn't go anywhere near them, which is good-even though I have killed the ant piles in the yard. She is quite the character. She also still loves to be rocked in her swing like a baby. I guess it's time to get rid of the swing before it breaks. But, she like to swing in it and pretend to go to sleep. Maybe I can find a big girl swing.

Worn Out Weekend
I thought I was going to get to sleep in this weekend, but I woke up early both days. Don't you just hate that? I had to get up early on Saturday anyway because I went to gymnastics. I had a good time at gymnastics this week. We did the trampoline and bars, but this time we got to go on this jumpy board. Mom said it was called a spring board, and I jumped onto a thing that was supposed to be like a vault or something. Anyway, that is my new favorite thing. I kept going over and over and over again. I also got to demonstrate doing the butterfly hang on the bars. Everyone clapped for me because I did a good job.
I was kind of tired after gymnastics, but I ran around with Bella and Silas in the backyard for awhile. I snuck outside while Mommy and Daddy were taking their shoes off. They didn't know that I knew how to open the back door. Then Mommy made me go to sleep. I was so mad, I really didn't want to take a nap. That is so boring! After I got up I had some lunch and I got to have a strawberry cupcake. The icing was really yummy, but I didn't want to eat the cake part, so I fed it to Daddy. Then I became the butterfly princess. I had a butterfly headband that I wore, and then I wore my police hat I made at school. When I got tired of that stuff, I made Mommy and Daddy come in my tent. I piled all of my toys and blankets on top of Mommy. Daddy was able to escape though!
I was really sad that Mommy and Daddy decided to go out and leave me at home. My friend Mary came over to play with me and we had a good time. We watched Shrek, and then we had some fish sticks and then I took out all of my toys to show Mary. She thought it was really cool and we played with everything. I hope she gets to come over again soon.
Today we did our normal stuff. We went to the grocery store and I drove the car around the store again. And, I got to drink some hot chocolate. Yum! Mommy made me take a nap as soon as we got home. I was kind of mad because I wanted to play, but I was kind of tired, and Daddy promised that we could go to get some pumpkins. Mommy woke me up, but I was still sleepy. She just can't seem to get my sleep schedule right. We drove in the car for a while on this bumpy road. Mommy said that it was like a roller coaster, and Daddy and Mommy and I all raised our hands in the air like we were on a ride. It was so hot when we got to the pumpkin patch, and I was tired, so I was not in the mood to have my picture taken. Sometimes I wish that stupid camera would break.
We looked at all sorts of pumpkins, and something called gourds. Some of them looked like apples and some of them had stuff in them that made noise when you shake it. It was pretty cool. Then I got to drive a boat full of pumpkins. That was pretty fun. And, I got a giraffe made out of a balloon. It popped because I was chewing on it. Oops! It was so hot that I got some strawberry ice cream. It was sooooo good! I wish I could eat popsicles and ice cream all the time.
I was so tired by the time we got home that I tried to go to bed. Mommy said that I had to eat dinner and take a bath first. Geeze! She has too many rules. Daddy and I talked to Grandma and Grandpa on the computer while Mommy made some dinner. I got to eat some pizza and then I had to take a bath, but I did get some new shampoo and it smelled really good. I'm afraid that all of my friends are going to try to lick my head at school tomorrow.
A note from Mommy
So, we had a babysitter last night, and while we had a good time out, John and I were both kind of sad not to put Brooklyn to bed. She had a good time with her babysitter though, and that always makes it a lot easier to go out again. Brooklyn did let us know that she learned a new trick. Normally she will do her own thing if we are changing or taking off our shoes, but we were surprised to find her in the backyard after taking her shoes off. We now have to keep the backdoor locked at all times because she can open the door all by herself. It was kind of funny, but now she can't be out of our sight or we might not know where she is! Oh, and tonight she tried to take herself to bed at 5:30! Poor kid, she was just so tired.
Lots of pictures below because I just couldn't choose a few!

Still Summer or Something
Thank goodness it's Friday. It's the last morning that Mommy is going to wake me up early this week. I didn't sleep so well last night, so I definitely thought that morning should start a little bit later. But, the flowers on my shirt and pants kind of made me in a springy mood, so it wasn't so bad for awhile after I woke up. By the time I got to school though, I just wanted to hang out with Mommy. She had to go to work, but she tried to get me to play with a little baby and help Daycare Grandma in the kitchen because she thought I wouldn't notice her leaving. I finally just let her go so she could hurry up and come back to get me.
Daddy picked me up from school. He came to the playground to get me instead of coming into the school. Sometimes he is a silly guy. We went to the car wash, which was pretty cool. Then we played in the car, and I was making the garage door go up and down when Mommy came home. She beeped her horn at me, and I jumped out of Daddy's car and ran to Mommy. I helped her carry some of her stuff inside because I'm helpful like that.
Mom, Dad, and I all ate popsicles when we got home. It was pretty hot this afternoon, so I brought my elephant float inside. I was hoping that Mom and Dad would get the hint and take me to the pool, but they didn't. Oh well, at least the popsicle still tastes yummy. We watched Elmo in Grouchland while Mommy made some pizza for dinner. Elmo is such a cool monster. I love watching him all the time. I was kind of sad that the movie kept stopping. I really hope that my Elmo movie isn't broken. At least I can watch him again in the morning.
I had to take a bath tonight because I was really dirty from the playground, and because I put some of my pizza in my hair. I just thought that it might make my hair shinier, or maybe even grow faster, but it just made the dogs want to eat the pizza off my head. I was really tired, but Mommy and I were dancing because we were watching the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader try-outs. They are really good dancers. I don't know if I want to be one when I grow up, but I think I might be as good of a dancer as they are. It really wore me out, so I told Mommy that I was ready for bed. I think she and Daddy were sad that I didn't stay up later with them, but it's their fault since they make me get up so early!
A note from Mommy:
Wow...for the second time this week, Brooklyn has decided that she was ready for bed without us even asking. She got Monkey and Bea (the ladybug) and started kissing me. She kissed John and told him that she was ready for bed. I guess she really is growing up. Now we just have to get the potty training down.

Pastry Chef(ette) in the Making
I had an early morning again today. I wish Mom would just let me sleep until I felt like getting up. I did get to wear my red pants with pink polka dots, and my red shoes with pink socks. I am totally a fashion icon, even at this early age. The only problem I have with my shoes is that they are still a little bit too big, so they fall off at the playground. It makes my socks all dirty, but I still have lots of fun.
Daddy picked me up from school again. I really like spending time with him until Mommy gets home. I sure am glad that he changed his schedule so that he could pick me up. Sometimes, it gets boring driving with Mom all the time.
I am thinking about becoming a pastry chef when I grow up. While Mommy was making dinner, I was making yummy stuff in the mixing bowls. I stirred by hand, and I made Mommy and Daddy use the mixer since they are bigger. We all licked the yummy stuff off of the silver mixers, and it was so good! Maybe tomorrow I won't have to pretend to make something good.
I went on a walk with Mommy after dinner. We went around the block and looked at the moon and all of the birds flying home to go to bed. We didn't stay out too long, but Mommy said that we can go on a long walk tomorrow, and Daddy said I could stay up as long as I wanted to. Isn't it weird that when I'm allowed to do fun stuff, I am way to tired to stay up and do it?
I took a bath when I got home from my walk. I had a lot of dirt from the playground. Mommy also found rocks stuck in the bottom of my shirt, and Daddy found some in my diaper. Whoops! No wonder it wasn't comfortable to sit down!
A note from Mommy
Normally Brooklyn wants to walk forever, but today we ran up the street and then she wanted me to carry her the rest of the way around the block. I don't mind it, but I know there is going to be a day when I won't be able to carry her for that long. It will be a sad day since that will mean she is going to be growing up.

Spaghetti Soup Night
Even though I went to bed early last night, I still wasn't ready to get up this morning. Geeze! I wish I could sleep in for a day. At least the day started off pretty good though because I got to wear a new outfit with birds all over it. When I went to school, everyone thought I had the cutest outfit. It's because I have a good taste in clothes. Good thing that rubbed off on my mom!
Daddy picked me up from school. There was a yucky fly in the car that kept flying on me and Monkey! I wanted it to go away, but it liked me because I am so sweet. Sometimes I have a rough life. Daddy and I fed the dogs and ate our popsicles before Mommy got home. Then I made Daddy read all of my books with me. I helped Mommy make spaghetti, but we spilled some of the noodles and started a bunch of fires. The noodles went under the pot and then there were flames on them. Mommy kind of freaked out and said that there was going to be a fire, but Daddy and I thought it was pretty cool.
Dinner was pretty yummy. I'm thinking about becoming a chef. I made some spaghetti soup and it was good. I had a cup of ice water and then I put my noodles and cheese in the cup too and mixed it with my fork. I ate some of it, but it was kind of cold. Next time I will put it in the microwave and push all of the buttons to make it hot.
I took a quick bath so I could watch my movies on Daddy's phone. I think Mommy thought I would go to bed by myself again, but I want to stay up all night!
A note from Mommy
I wanted to throw up when Brooklyn made her spaghetti soup and then was eating it. Gross! Thinking about putting spaghetti in a cup of water before eating it sounds so disgusting. Oh well, whatever it takes for her to eat. Of course, she really didn't eat much of her food then. She has gained a few pounds this year, so I'm sure the doctor will give us a good report when we go see her in November.
