Today was a good day. I was even almost ready to wake up when Mommy came in my room this morning. I got to wear some new clothes today, which is always good so I can show them off to my friends. I'm sure they all want to share clothes with me, but I don't know where they live, so I keep all of my clothes to myself. Mommy is trying to get me to like new music, but it's totally weird. She said that Jerry Garcia sings a lot of the songs and that he was in some band called Grateful Dead. I don't know about anyone else, but I sure would be greatful to be dead rather than having to listen to those stupid songs. I want my nursery rhymes!
I had a good day at school, and Daddy came to pick me up. I ate all of the rest of the baby tomatoes for dinner tonight. Daddy and I got to hang out for awhile and watch Happy Feet until Mommy came home. She was breathing funny and said she had been running. I never cough or breathe a lot when I run. She must have run real fast or really really far. Mommy danced with me and then I had to take a bath, but I ended up getting to take a shower instead because it's kind of cold in the house.
A note from Mommy
Things seem to be returning to normal for Brooklyn. There was no attempt at hitting today, which was a nice change. I hope that she remains the sweet baby...I mean big girl, that I know and love. Every time I look at Brooklyn in her little outfits, I realize how fast she is growing up and what a little person she has become.
As a modern day kid, Brooklyn has decided she needs her own blog. We feel like we are behind the times since she is starting this blog at a year and a half instead of right out of the womb.

Picture Blog: Making (Disaster) Princess Cupcakes for Brooklyn's Birthday
A note from Mommy:
John, Alex, and I worked very hard to make some pretty princess cupcakes for Brooklyn's birthday. Needless to say, they did not turn out like the picture in the book. John thought they looked like they had blow up doll mouths, and I was so disappointed that Alex and I went out to buy a small cake.
Here are some pictures of the process.

Monday Blues
Ugh...I had to get up early today for school. I have to get used to this schedule again now that I don't get to be on vacation anymore. Grandma and Grandpa Pepin left today to go home. I was sad, but I got to see them before I had to go to school. I had a great day at school, and I was glad to see Ms. Brenda and all of my friends. Daycare Grandma still isn't back, but hopefully she will be at school soon.
Mommy made some cupcakes to take to school to celebrate my birthday with all of my friends. They all sang happy birthday to me, and we got to have banana cupcakes with chocolate frosting. Mommy made some little cupcakes, just our size! I got to leave school early, and I thought I was going to do fun stuff with Mommy, but we went to the doctor again. This time we went for my 2 year old check up. I weigh 26.2 pounds, and 33 inches, which makes me in the 50th percentile in weight and 40th in height. I don't really know what it means, but I guess it's good. Mommy said I wasn't a shrimp any more. The doctor was pretty nice, but I still had to get a shot for the flu. It really hurt and I didn't like it.
When we got home, we let the dogs out and Mommy changed her clothes and then we went out to ride my bike. I didn't want to at first, but I got on my bike and rode around a little bit. I even pedaled around all by myself. I got to play with Gracie, who lives across the street while our moms talked. She helped me ride my bike some more and chased me around the yard, which was really fun. Daddy came home and I was so excited to see him. I knew that he would make my owie from my shot feel better. Daddy and I watched the Bee Movie while Mommy made dinner. I got to eat lettuce and baby tomatoes and popcorn. Yum!
A note from Mommy
Brooklyn received an excellent report from school. No hitting or being grumpy. Of course it was a different situation once she came back home. We are slowly getting back into our regular routine, so hopefully things will go back to normal.

It's Been a Looooong Weekend
Mommy and Daddy decided that I should stay home again on Wednesday. I watched some more movies until Mommy came home. It was a pretty slow day because I was resting up for my birthday. Alex made us some yummy vegetarian burrito casserole and I ate with her.
When I woke up on Thursday, Mommy came in my room singing Happy Birthday. She said that I was 2 now! I was still pretty sleepy, so I went back to bed. When I woke up, Grandma Zsa Zsa and Grandpa B, and Uncle Eric and Aunt Danielle were at my house with Alex and Grandma and Grandpa P! They started singing Happy Birthday to me, and I got all embarrassed. I did get a lot of good presents, and Alex and Aunt Danielle helped me open everything. I got an art desk, a grill, clothes, princess shoes, and a bike! I got to play with all of my toys until dinner. I had so much fun! Aunt Danielle and Uncle Eric were pushing me around the house on my bike and I was grilling food for everyone. I had a lot of fun with all of my family here.
I was sad when I woke up on Friday because Alex had to go home and I didn't get to see her before she went home. Luckily I get to see her in a month because we are going to Colorado. We hung out at the house all day, and I didn't even have to get out of my jammies or take a bath:)
I didn't have to go to gymnastics on Saturday. I kind of missed it because I didn't get to go last weekend. I think I don't have plans the next few weeks, so I will get to go to gymnastics all the time. We took Grandma and Grandpa P to the popcorn store so they could get some yummy stuff. Then, we went to lunch and I had lunch at a little table with Mommy. She looked kind of silly because everyone else was sitting at a big table. In the afternoon, my friend Jamison came over to play. Some other kids were supposed to come over too, but they couldn't make it. We had a lot of fun except for when Mommy made me go to my room because I hit Daddy.
We went out for breakfast this morning and then we went to the bookstore. I got to go up the stairs and the escalator and ride down it too. I looked at all of the books in the kids section, and when I looked around with Daddy, I knocked over a big display and threw some guitars. He was really mad, but I was having fun. Sometimes parents just don't know what fun is. I went to sleep for awhile when we got home, and when I got up Mommy was making me mad. She finally made me some food, and then I watched Beauty and the Beast while Mommy, Grandma, and Grandpa played some cards. Daddy came to watch the movie with me when he got up from his nap. We went out to dinner, but I got in big trouble because I kept hitting Mommy. Sometimes I just want to be left alone, and no one will. I know it's because I'm cute, but it's still annoying. I took a bath when I got home because tomorrow is a school day. I think I am ready for a break from Mommy and Daddy.
A note from Mommy
Brooklyn is taking turning 2 to heart. She has become possessed by the 2 year old devil and is hitting and spitting a lot. Everything is No Way! Although I am not really ready to go back to work, I am hoping that getting Brooklyn back to school will get her back to our sweet baby girl.
Pictures to follow later this week.

Hair Cutting Cutie
I was so excited to get to sleep in this morning! Mommy and Daddy thought I should stay home another day since I was sick yesterday. I felt a lot better this morning. I was going to help Daddy put that thing in his eye, but I decided he needed a haircut instead. I cut a little piece of Daddy's hair off with the clippers and then decided my bangs were too long, so I cut those too. Daddy had to help me fix my hair a little bit, but it looks so awesome. Then, I hung out with Daddy and Alex and we got to go to Starbucks. I got some hot chocolate and it helped my voice come back.
We went to Mommy's work and picked her up to take her to lunch. We had soup and rice and I drank this yummy almond milk thing. It had some chewy ball things in it that were pretty weird, but I liked it. Then we got to go to the popcorn shop. I got to have some dill pickle popcorn and it was super yummy. When we took Mommy back to work, she made me go in and say hi to everyone, but I didn't feel like it. I don't know why she thinks she has to show me off. Geeze!
I went home with Daddy and Alex and took a little nap. When I woke up, I watched Wizard of Oz again. I love that movie. Mommy came home and I got to cook with her. She made some cheesecake and I made cookies out of salt and pepper. We also did some ring around the rosie, and I played with my baby and watched more Wizard of Oz. Alex made some dinner and I ate with her. It was so yummy. We had burrito casserole and it was so good. It even had corn in it. Mmmm! I wanted to watch my Elmo movie, but my DVD player turned off and I couldn't get it back on. I was so mad. Daddy said he would watch it with me in the morning, but I wanted it right then. I don't know why I can't always get what I want.
A note from Mommy
Well, Brooklyn is apparently feeling better since she decided to give herself a haircut. She did actually need it, but who knew that she would use the clippers on herself! Wizard of Oz was playing again when I got home. I think Brooklyn has seen it about 10 times in the last 3 days. When the DVD player died, she was so mad. I picked her up to get her ready for bed and she slapped me. We seem to have the "you don't hit people you love" conversation more frequently. The joys of having a 2 year old. It's a good thing that she is just so darn cute.
For some reason, pictures aren't loading tonight, so we will update them tomorrow.

Sickie Sickie Poo Poo
I didn't feel so good this morning when Mommy woke me up. I tried to talk to her, but my voice wouldn't come out of my mouth. Mommy said that my head was hot, so we went downstairs to see Daddy. I had a little fever so I got to stay home with Daddy. I helped Grandma and Grandpa make a shopping list before they went out. Even when I'm sick, I am such a good helper.
I watched Wizard of Oz with Daddy in bed, but he kept snoring. It was so loud so I had to slap him to wake him up. Mommy came home to take me to the doctor, which she knows I hate. I didn't even want to stand on the scale, but I found out that I weigh 25.8 pounds. When we went in the room, Mommy got my doctor bag out and she listened to my heart with the nurse. Then we played with more of my doctor tools. Mommy saw a monkey in my ear, so we had to let the doctor check it out. I was so happy that I didn't have to get any shots today, but I still didn't want her to look in my mouth. I hate that popsicle stick they put in your mouth.
I came home and had some crackers and watched some tv, but I was pretty tired so I took a long nap. Mommy came and woke me up, but I still wanted to sleep. I watched the Wizard of Oz on the couch two more times before Mommy made me get in the shower to help my chest. It didn't help, but I like being in the warm shower because it feels good. Then, I got to watch Wizard of Oz again.
A note from Mommy
Brooklyn had a low grade fever this morning, no voice, and some coughing so I made a doctor appointment. I was glad to find out that she doesn't have croup, but there isn't much we can do for her except give her Benadryl. Hopefully she feels better by her birthday! I can't believe how many times she has watched Wizard of Oz today. She is on her 4th time. She is laying in our bed watching it. I thought she would fall asleep, but she just can't stop watching. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day for her.

Family-filled Weekend
Man, this was an exhausting weekend. Mommy never learns about overscheduling. I went to school on Friday, but I got to see Grandpa Pepin in the morning. We hung out for a little while before I had to leave, and we were laughing at Mommy as she ran around the house looking for her phone. Silly lady-her phone was in her purse! Grandpa and I didn't say anything, but I think we wanted to make fun of her.
Mommy picked me up from school and we went home to see Daddy, Grandma, and Grandpa. I got to play with Grandma's phone because she has a really cool kitty game. We had dinner and I had to take a bath since we had to get up really early in the morning. I got to hang out for awhile. I wanted to stay up until Alex came to our house, but I just couldn't stay awake that late.
We got up really early in the morning to go to Daddy's graduation. My friend Lauren came with us. She sat with my while Mommy was running around the house like a crazy lady again. I wonder when she is going to get things together. We finally left and drive kind of far away, but we got to go to Starbucks. I had a lot of fun and danced and ate some fruit and drink hot chocolate. Daddy had to sit in a room and didn't get to go with us, but I got to look at him through the door when we got to the graduation.
Grandma Zsa Zsa and Grandpa B met us at graduation too, so we had all sorts of fun people that I got to play with. I got really tired and tried to take a nap on the chairs, but then Mommy let me go all the way to the front with her so we could take pictures of Daddy going on the stage. Luckily, I pooped so I got to miss more of the boring stuff. My favorite part was seeing Daddy on the stage because he had a big smile on his face.
We went to lunch afterwards, and I got to sit with everyone at the table. I was really tired though and then fell asleep in the car and woke up in front of some store. I guess we were at the outlet mall doing some shopping. We didn't stay for too long because there were a lot of people there. I hung out with the family the rest of the night and went to bed early for the weekend because it was such a long day.
I woke up today and took a shower so I could look pretty for my pictures. I had a couple of outfit changes before Mom, Dad, and I could agree on an outfit. The picture place was pretty cool because they had a Lego table. But, when I had to go take pictures, I decided I didn't want to do it. I threw a fit and then tried to take a nap. They still took pictures of me, but I didn't have to smile.
We went to Cheesecake Factory for lunch and I looked at myself in the little mirrors in our booth. It was so fun. I played with Grandma and Grandpa and moved all around the table. I fell asleep in the car again and Alex took me to my room so I could keep sleeping. I slept for a long time and then Mommy woke me up. What's up with that? I was still tired, but I watched a movie with Alex. She is such a cool big sister.
A note from Mommy
I was so disappointed about the pictures today. We took Brooklyn for her 2 year pictures and got 1 (kind of). We then tried to take some family pictures, and she refused. All the pictures are with her sleeping or half asleep and a pacifier in her mouth. Ugh!

Pinky Pepin
Wednesday was just another day. It's just so hard to get up in the morning when it's cold outside. Daddy was helping me get dressed, but the jeans Mommy picked out were WAY too big. Daddy said that I could be in a Dextatrim advertisement because I could pull my pants so far out. I don't really know what he's talking about, but Mommy agreed with him. Sometimes they are weird. Anyway, I got to pick out hot pink pants to go with my pink shirt with hearts, and then I wore my pink plaid shoes and pink raincoat. I love pink!
I went to school early because Mommy had to go to San Antonio. I had a good day, and we were even allowed to play outside. Daddy picked me up and when he tried to give me my fruit snacks, I got mad because he didn't let me get it out of his bag. When I got to pick out my snack, I chose Daddy's apple. I don't like the skin so much, but apples are yummy!
We hung out for awhile until Mommy got home. She was late because she had to drive so far, but we had a yummy mac n cheese dinner which totally made up for it. I took a bath and we danced to lots of music, but I got tired because it was so late. And I was ready to go to sleep because that meant it was that much sooner that I got to see Grandma and Grandpa Pepin and Alex too.
It was cold this morning so I tried to hide under my blankets, but Mommy found me. I got dressed and snuggled up in my chair with my blankets. Mommy took me to school. I love my teachers there! The weather warmed up a lot and we got to play on the playground in the afternoon. Daddy picked me up from there and when we got home, Grandma and Grandpa Pepin were there! I was so happy to see them again.
We waited for Mommy, who was late again, and I got to play with Grandma's phone. She had a cool cat game on there that I totally want Mommy and Daddy to get. When Mommy got home, we played Ring Around the Rosie and spun around until we were so so so dizzy. Then we had spaghetti for dinner, and I took a bath so I could dance around the house some more. Everyone was amazed how much energy I have.
A note from Mommy
No one can believe how much energy Brooklyn has. She runs around in circles and dances. We finally had to put her to bed because she was obviously tired, but didn't want to go to bed because she was having a lot of fun. I think she was showing off for her grandparents!

Jail Time
I so did not want to wake up this morning. Mommy tried to get me out of bed, but I tried to keep sleeping. It's too bad that she is bigger than me because she can just pick me up out of bed. Yuck! When we got downstairs, things were all weird. Everything was off the carpet, and I had no idea why. I thought maybe Mommy and Daddy moved everything so they could buy me some giant toys, but they said that the carpet was going to get cleaned. That definitely didn't sound as good as the big toys.
I had some milk and fruit chews before we went to school. I really wanted to see Daycare Grandma, but she is on vacation in California for two more weeks. Ms. Brenda said we might be able to call Daycare Grandma and talk to her on the phone today. I had a good day at school, and they even got Word World so we could watch it whenever we wanted to. Awesome!
When Mommy and I got home, we had to be locked in the kitchen because the guy was cleaning the carpets. Mommy said we couldn't walk on them because they were wet. It was like being in jail because the gate was up in the doorway and the couches are blocking the living room! Luckily I still got my daily popsicle with Daddy. I think the best thing was that the bookshelf is in the kitchen, so Mommy and I sat on the floor and read a lot of books. I love to read, and I hope that they bookshelf stays there.
A note from Mommy
Brooklyn was nice enough to take most of the books off the bookshelf so we could read them. Of course, we only read a few pages of each book. Maybe that was so we could read more books?

And the dancing goes on and on and on
I got up this morning and was ready to start dancing in my dancing pj's, but Daddy made me take them off and get dressed for school. I was so mad because I really just wanted to wear the dancers all day. I decided to ignore Daddy until he left for work because he didn't let me have my way. Mommy did let me pick out the jacket I wore to school today, so that made me feel better. But, she didn't let me have a popsicle. It was just a horrible morning. I couldn't belive that things weren't going my way.
Daddy picked me up from school. Even though it was kind of cold, we got to play outside this afternoon. Even though I didn't really want to go to school this morning, I had fun and all of my friends were so happy to see me. When I got home from school, Daddy let me have a popsicle since Mommy said I could have one in the afternoon. I think sometimes she thinks that I forget things, but I don't.
After dinner and a bath, I got to dance more. Mommy brought my music cube in and I danced on the bed in my dancing pj's. Then we went and danced in the living room. Mommy even danced with me. And then we danced to Dancing With the Stars. Mommy and I did partner dances and we were pretty good. Well, I was pretty good, but Mommy might need to take some dance lessons. Daddy thought we were silly. I love to dance though and I totally didn't want to relax so I could be ready for bed. I wish I could stay up all night!

Another 30+ minutes of dancing tonight, and she made me dance with her. We had fun, but she just won't stop. How does she have so much energy? I think she was running on fumes though because when I went to put her in bed, she couldn't even keep her eyes open when I cuddled her.
