Weekend Wrap-up

From: Brooklyn
I love you. I miss you. I like you. Yesterday we had fun at Target. I was there because I thought I wasn't doing anything, but I was. I go because I love somebody who was the same, but they was a little bit different. I got to put on some silly wigs and silly masks.
Today I was walking along and singing my song. Doo do dooo, nah nah nah. I was siiinging and I was looking at youuuuu. Who is that girl? I'm staring at her-er-er-er. I'm a sky, but I'm in a rush. The only thing I worry about is youuuuu-ooo. Are you going to be my partner-ah-ah-ah? I am singing with you. Do do dooo. I wonder what today will do. Ahh ah ah ahhh, doo doo do do. Yo yo. Aleh, rock n roll.
I like you. How about you? How about you? How about you like pizza? P p p p- it starts with P.

From: Mom
We've actually had a pretty low key weekend. The 2 highlights were probably running through the pouring rain last night to get into Target (it stopped immediately after we got inside), and we went to a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese this afternoon. Brooklyn won a bunch of tickets and was able to buy a butterfly bracelet.
The rain brought in some cooler weather (70s and 80s), so Brooklyn decided to break out the cold weather gear.
Now we are winding down the weekend watching Shrek and getting ready for the next week of school.

Brooklyn 'reads'

From Mom:
Today was picture day, but unfortunately someone forgot to take a picture of Brooklyn in all her cuteness. She did assure us that she smiled big for the camera, so hopefully we get some good pictures on the CD we ordered so we can share them with everyone.

Brooklyn also got her books from the Scholastic order we placed last week, so she read us the books they have read in her class. Check out the video below!

Marcel the Shell

From Brooklyn:
You have to hear this:
Marcel the Shell With Shoes On
Marcel the Shell With Shoes On Two

You have to do what your mom and dad want to do, not what you want to do. You feel like you want to play and play and play all day. Do you have a loving sister?

My favorite part of Marcel the Shell is when she screams and talks about Windy.

I like you to send Windy Windy. Can you all get a water drink if you want to? Windy Windy. Are you 7?

From Mom:
Brooklyn and I read Marcel the Shell. The librarian told us about the videos on YouTube, and Brooklyn can't get enough of them, especially the second one. She replays the part where the doorbell rings and the dog barks over and over and over.
Today Brooklyn had a great day at school. She got on purple, which means that she had an excellent day. She went above and beyond what was expected of her.
When she got home, we all went to the playground for awhile where John taught her to slide down the pole.

First Day of Fall in Austin

My name is Brooklyn. Is your name start with B? Today I learned to bake again. I made chocolate mousse. It's not really made of moose. Do you start with moo?

We enjoyed to watch tv this morning. And I watched with tv with my mommy and my daddy and me, Brooklyn. I played the piano while Mommy and Daddy watched the news, after we watched Mr. Ed.

We went to the playground with my Monkey. Are you riding with your monkey in the car tonight and always, and even in the morning? We met Vittoria at the playground. I played with a puppy. She was a cutey doggy woggy hoggy. I learned to walk with the dog by my friend Daddy.

I watched Mr. Ed with my family this morning before I started to play this morning, how about you? I taught myself something new-play together with your family. You can learn new princess destinies. You can play with your Monk. You can play with your stuffed animals. Always brush your teeth or them might get dirty and turn greenish when you grow up.

Peace. Eat pizza! Eat pizza! Eat pizza! Eat pizza! Eat pizza! Eat pizzas!

So, I'm rethinking this whole thing about allowing Brooklyn to have free reign over her blog. She definitely keeps it interesting!

In summary, we watched Mr. Ed this morning and she played with her toys and on the keyboard while we watched the news. We decided to go enjoy the day and met one of Brooklyn's friends at a playground. There was a small dog named Carla there that Brooklyn followed around. We stopped by the bookstore on the way back and then came home to make some chocolate mousse. We also made some chewy peanut butter caramel bars. Brooklyn was going to help, but decided to build a fort instead.

We are wrapping up our night so we can get enough rest for school and work tomorrow. Brooklyn has made some pictures for her teacher, Mrs. Crowder. If you want to check out her classroom, or see what they have been doing, you can click HERE.

Future Julia Childs in the Making?!?

From Brooklyn:
I am learning about a new thing today, how about you? Today I am learning about baking. Are you learning how to bake-yes or no? Today I made cookies with my mama and her name is Alison. And my Daddy's name is John. But my real name is Brooklyn Paige Pepin? Does your real name start with B?

Today we also baked bubble gum pizza. We had it for dinner. We had a pizza picnic in our house.

From Mom:
Brooklyn and I read a book about Julia Childs last week and she decided that she wanted to learn how to cook. With the help of Pinterest and some friends, we picked out a few recipes to try this weekend.

After an uneventful trip to the grocery store and a nap for Brooklyn, we made coconut macaroons and bubble pizza. You can check out the recipes if you're interested. The macaroons were super runny, so if you make them, I would suggest more coconut or less honey. But, they were really good! We ate most of them.

Bon Appetit!

Back...again...hopefully this time to stay

A word from Brooklyn's mom:
We are back! Now that Brooklyn is almost 5, she is taking over the blog!!

I am a big girl now because I am 4. In two weeks I am going to turn 5. Hold on Brooklyn, you mean two months. I am going to be best friends with my other best friends. How about you? Are you a good friend? If you are a bad friend, then what do you do? If you are a good friend, you might need to go to somebody's house. You can go there and tell me everything because I am a kid. In two months, I am going to turn 5. How about you?

I am in Pre-K now. I go to Windermere Primary this year. I've got the bestest friends in life. You are all good friends that come here. I like to draw and paint. I like to play in centers, and I like to play with crabs. There are two real live ones. They are from Miss Beeler and her little boy.

My new favorite song is What Does the Fox Say (listen here). I also like my song Twinkle Twinkle (I'm singing it right now). I really like to dance to What Does the Fox Say.

Brooklyn

Thank you for joining me. I hope you have a great evening.

We have been away from this blog for so long, here are some other pictures and videos...
