I decided to take a day off from my blog yesterday because there wasn't much going on. Mommy made some blueberry waffles for breakfast, and then the waffle maker broke. That silly Mom needs to practice her cooking skills!
We went to the grocery store and came home to take a nap. After lunch, Mom and I went to the pool and swam. I got this cool new float and did not want to get out. Mom said that I am going to be on the swim team when I get big. I liked kicking around in the water and moved around in the pool all by myself.
Sun and swimming sure tires me out so I took another nap. When I got up, I got to talk to Grandma and Grandpa Pepin on Skype. And, I saw their cat Baby. He sure is cool. I can't wait to go and visit him and chase him around the house.
I ate some pizza for dinner and stole Daddy's hat to make it a more fashionable event.
I had a good morning today. I went to school and played with all of my friends. Ms. Brenda took my temperature before I had my nap because I was a little bit hot. She said that I only had a little fever. When I got up, I had a big fever. Ms. Brenda called my Mommy at work and told her that I had a 101.5 temperature and that I had to go home. I knew that she was going to come pick me up, so I was waiting at the door when she came to pick me up.

Mom called my doctor when we got in the car and she was able to see me. I like going to the doctor's office because they have a cool fish tank with lots of fish swimming around. I even got to sit by myself in the seat next to the tank so I could look at them. I don't like it when I have to see the nurse or doctor. Nurse Toccarra took my weight, temperature, and listened to my chest. I did not like any of those things because I know she always sticks needles in me. My doctor came to see me after that, and she looked at my ears. When she tried to stick that thing in my mouth to see my throat, I did not like it at all. It makes me gag and cry. She didn't see anything wrong with me so she said I had to get my blood drawn.
The lab lady stuck a needle in my arm and moved it around. I really didn't like it and cried because it hurt. Mommy was hugging me and telling me it was OK, but she was wrong. I don't like getting needles stuck in me. We had to wait for the test results and I fell asleep because that much crying wears me out. The doctor said my white blood cell count was high and she was going to give me some antibiotics. She also said some mumbo jumbo about a catheter.
I did not know what a catheter was, but I do now. I sure think that these doctors and nurses are mean! I had to get the catheter for a urine sample, and right after that the mean nurse stuck a needle in my leg. I was having such a bad day that I just cried. I was so happy to be able to go home after that. Daddy met us at the doctor's office to make sure I was OK. He gave me a big hug and kiss. Then we got to go home.
I got to cuddle with Daddy when we got home and that made me feel better...and the Ibuprofen also helped. I had some pizza and dried cranberries and red Gatorade for dinner. Then Mommy felt so bad for me that she gave me some cookies n cream ice cream. YUM!! Maybe being sick isn't so bad. Daddy read all my books to me and I got to have my pacifier.
I have to go back to the doctor tomorrow and get more blood drawn. I'm not happy about that, but maybe I can get more ice cream.
A note from Mommy:
Boy, today was a bad day! I felt so bad for Brooklyn because she kept getting stuck with things. I am not looking forward to going back to the doctor tomorrow for more blood draws. Brooklyn did really take after me in the needle wimpiness department. She cried when she saw the needles, she was OK during the blood draw, and started crying all over again when she saw the needle was still there. I guess this is payback for me!
